I bought Silver over gold for a few reason:

Everyone was getting gold....
I like the color better.....
I think Lugia is cooler.....

But Gold + Silver were [IMO] easily the best. And as for worst.... hmmm..... yea.... I guess I would go with R+S.....

DPP > FRLG > GSC > RSE > RBY

RSE added a lot in the strategy department (tourney gamer here).  All of them are nothing short of great.

I agree...

GOLD IS THE BEST!!!!!!!

RUBY/SAPHIRE WORST!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Ahhhh the casual Pokemon gamers who don't think anything changed. So cute and innocent.

IMO:

Gold/Silver > FRLG > RBY > RSE > DPP[I hate all pokemon after 250]

For the record, GSC represents the smallest strategy changes in a sequel in the franchise. That's right, the two new types were the smallest. The only reason I have them so high is I really liked the Pokemon added.

Indeed, those who only think that Diamond and Pearl are just visual enhancements of Blue and Red.. I pity them so.

Pixel Art can be fun.

As far as the metagame goes these are my feelings, +1 ^-^

EDIT: Forget this post, I just realized how stupid I sounded.

Ahh because held items, Psychics and Dragons actually being wallable, Baton-Passing, Endure-Reversal and Perish Song are so superficial.

EDIT: And let's not forgot how useful Detect, Protect and Spikes are.
