Forums - Nintendo - Will The Force Unleashed be best on Wii?

The Wii version offers so much more then pretty graphics. so Il say Wii.

after watching the IGN Developer's Walkthrough, I am gonna buy the game.

Looks pretty gratifying to pick guys up and slam em down with gesture controls. Not sure if it is gonna be better than any of the HD versions but I am looking forward to force push some Beotchys!!

Well the leaked review from Official Nintendo magazine (some European Nintendo mag) rated it higher then the leaked 360/PS3 reviews and said they liked it much better then those versions. Plus the Nintendo Power review really sucked... like the review was a couple of paragraphs and hardly any of it was negative towards the game, it didn't sound like they justified the 7.5, plus their reviews are very erratic ranging from very brutal on games with little justification or very lenient on real problems in the game and giving said game a high score. So basically what I'm saying is you buy Nintendo Magazine cause it's pretty entertaining not for the reviews.

I dont think so, what would make the wii version better?

nothing much really just some useless feature were you use the wii as a light sabre, oh and a dual mode

NO WAY!! You pick up the Wii and use it as a lightsaber?  Man, I can only imagine the amount of ruined TVs and returned consoles after this game comes out.

errr..ever heard of wii wrist strap?

The Wii has a strap too?

It's a lot heaver than the remote I hope they made them thick enough this time.

I don't think motion control aspects are going to make the Wii version "better" than its counterparts. Although the Wii version is not merely a watered-down port, I doubt its been built from the ground up for the Wii either -- and I think that's required for any Wii game to truly shine.

It'll be a different game, for certain. "Better", than its HD brethren, might be asking too much.

It was built from the ground up by Krome, they had 3 teams to make all the versions that they were in charge of, their main focus was on the Wii version, then there was a team for the PS2 version, and the last team was put on the handheld versions.  So yes it was built from the ground up for the Wii.

Any magazine which supports only a single console is bound to boost their reviews for that console's games -- because if that console's games sell better, that console sells better, and thus... their magazine sells better.

I *never* trust reviews from a rag that has "Nintendo", "Playstation", or "XBox" in the name.

So... it doesn't use all the spiffy physics technology LucasArts has been developing for the past few years?  Its a different engine, and the product just shares the name?  I think you may misunderstand what "ground up" means.

If its truly a different engine... then it will be so different from the HD versions as to not make them comparable in a direct fashion.

Actually I find ONMs reviews pretty good.... some games seem to get slightly favourable reviews, but generally they give good scores and I at least can tell when they have been too favourable (or not enough) by reading the review content.

This is a kind of preview of the game from June.

Actually the leaked review for the 360 version that gave it a 7.5 was Official Xbox Magazine, so they're not trying to boost their score for the game, in fact the only games they would benefit from giving higher ratings is first party. But Official Nintendo Magazine gave TFU 8.0 or 8.1 or a 8.something, and gave a lot of good reasons for the rating I can find the review, I made a thread with images of the review.

I played the demo on 360 and, after viewing some gameplay videos of the Wii version, I don't think it will measure up to the 360 version in terms of atmosphere. If I were to buy a version of this game, it would almost certainly be on an HD console.
