The thing is, Haze wasn't hyped. When we talk about about "hype" we are referring to the general "feeling" and atmosphere months or weeks before the game is released. And, excuse me but I didn't get that feeling. No one said it was the new Far Cry or Halo or Half Life. And apart from some 13 year old PS3 owners, who have never played a descent FPS in all their -short- gaming life, nobody said that Haze will redefine the genre. But the game wasn't too bad, wasn't too good either. And the crazy and lame thing that happens in this generation, started again. "ZOMG, it didn't get a 9 on IGN-FLOOP, BOOOMB" etc etc. Pathetic
Talking about Too Human, it did get TONS of HYPE. NEGATIVE hype. I still remember the reactions to the 2005 (or 6) E3 that the game was atrocious. And may I tell you, there is a lot of improvement in there, when a game from "atrocious" becomes fun, addictive for the first 25 or so hours, and rewarding (lots of customization, different classes, variant gameplay).
But then, there was Dyack. And there were all the BS he said about redifineing the genre etc etc. And there was the biggest HATE expression I have ever seen on the net for a single game. Just read the goddamn Destructoid review. The guy acts as if Dyack stole his wife or something.
And there is a valid point in this thread, made by BAROZI, which is really worth noticing. The Variety of the scores in different reviews indicates the confusion of the reviewers and reflects the hostility against a game, not because of the quality of the game, but because of its creators. Pathetic and sad if you ask me. Moreso, I read that Too Human toped the rental charts for the past weeks, and this is just another evidence of how much confused the consumers are.
PLAY the goddamn game, bought, rented or given from your friend. It worths the time...
