you guys do know that to reach 50% the wii has to outsell 83% roughly out of all the consoles sold....
that is i mean, if 6 million consoles are sold between now and then, 5 million have to be wii's and 1 million have to be ps360

if 10 million consoles are sold between now and then they need to sell 70% of all consoles

There will be a lot more than 10 million consoles sold in the next 4 months, theprof. Historically, roughly half of all sales for a console in a given year happen between September and December. This year's grand total through August is a combined 23.68mil consoles sold between Wii, PS3, and 360. We'll likely see about as many more consoles sold between now and the end of the year.

In that light, they actually only need to sell about 58.5% of those 23.68 million systems to hit 50% by the end of the year.

The PS3 will not have more than 24%, the 360 will not have less than 27%, and the Wii will not have more than 49%.

PS3: 4.56m

360: 4.89m

Wii:  8.32m

Almost 18 million total.  So why do you think that this year, with lower PS3 and 360 prices and much faster sales overall that we'll sell fewer?
