I admit I overhyped Spore a bit, it's a still fantastic game, no doubt about it, but it's lacking a bit of depth in some stages. A solid 9/10, but I called it "the greatest game of the century" before
I will leave this to unreleased games because including released games would make the list far too long.
The Conduit, Little Big Planet, Fable 2, Killzone 2, Gears of War 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Tales of *, Kingdom Hearts 3 (and its not even announced!), and more I might add later.

And you don't think anyone did this with Spore and The Conduit? Overhype is not about which games deserve hype, most games that get hype are usually good games in one facet or another. Overhype is about select portions of the fanbase over doing the hype and overstating the likely effect of the game. Spore and The Conduit have sufferred the same thing.

hype sells games. Period.
It can disapoint gamers that bought the hype, but the big companies don´t care. And there will be hype.

Yes, but people are not unrealistic with the sales predictions of Spore or The Conduit. I have seen a lot of unacceptable predictions for LBP.

I'm quite surprise about this aswell i'm a pretty big Kingdom Hearts Fanboy but even I didn't thinkt here'd be so many people hyping it when it hasn't even been announced yet.
The one game that I think isn't hyped enough is White Knight Chronicles.
