It could make it this year. (but I highly doubt it)

Wii best bet LTD for 2008 is 46 million
PS3 worst bet is 20 million
X360 worst bet is 25 million

So in that case it would make it within the last 2 weeks of the year.

However I expect PS3 and X360 to each be 1-2 million higher than those figures. So I don't think it will manage it. In the first 3 months of the year however the Wii will continue selling incredibly as it always does, while normal consoles suffer in that period, so Wii should break 50% around the new Fiscal Year, so March-May time.

I think it will get there in the end of 2009.

Not really. In the majority of weeks this year, the Wii managed to outsell the PS3 and 360 combined.

since the wii has *almost* every week sold more than the summation of ps3 and 360s sold, it would seem very odd if it did not hit 50% at some point soon, most likely by early 09

Yes, I believe that the Wii has the potential to actually get as far as 60% marketshare by the time this generation's machines stop selling. As for 50% I think that it is quite possible just after the Christmas holiday this year, and if not then, then likely by spring 09.

I think it's about time some (I repeat) some people give up... and realize that the Wii is going to reach 50% market share very soon, unless the 360's price cut moves major units over a long period of time.
