Yeah, DQ9 could top FF8. FF 13 will probably do about 1.5 mil. the first week, but drop off faster than the other ones. FF7 and FF10 did about 40% attach rate on the PS1 and PS2, respectively. I expect FF 13 to get 50-55% attach rate due to the PS3 not being the lead console in the Japanese market. MGS4 had a very high attach rate as well the first week.

With the way the PSP is picking up a new Monster hunter game might be able to get close. Another shot is FFXIII if White Knight or other games coming before it drive up the PS3's console base. My bet is it will be a portable and not console game that does it though.

PS3 will 100% reach 3 mln. by the release of FFXIII, so you FAIL. It`s debatable about 4-5 mln., since the FFXIII release date in Japan is unknown, BUT FFXIII will EASY cross 1 mln. first week.
