Seeing all the hype for RES 2 is good....it looks nice but lets be honest the first Resistance was at best in the "good" category.....while it was truly motorstorm that made people go "WOW".

This is reflected through the sales of Motorstorm 1......yes I know about the bundles....but still the bundles ATM moved extra 700K units....putting it below RES 1.

But this holiday we have tons of shooters!....COD5, RES2, Fallout 3 can be played like one.....basically many high profile shooter type games will give Resistance competiton

On the other hand in Motorstorm 2 and the EU PS3 xmas buyers who want a fun....cool racing game.....basically what Motorstorm 2 is with its 4-player splitscreen & fun crashes...& motorstorm 2 has literally no competition

This leads me to believe thanks to EU MS 2 will outsell RES 2....

I honestly don't care either way. I really enjoy both series and believe that they are the best racing and FPS games on the console (or any console this gen). I really didn't even think about the original motorstorm at release until I was given it as a gift, but its really different and fun. How many other games have 10 vehicle types on the same track with different advantages? Running a ATV trying to speed past you right over in a Semi never gets old.

I would bet both sell in the 3 million+ range, maybe more given how much higher the PS3 install base is and the upcoming holiday. The fact that there are multiple IPs that are brand new this gen selling millions on the PS3 is a good sign for gaming (Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Motorstorm, Resistance ect). I'll be picking up both so no advantage one way or the other from me ;).

I don't know if it WILL X 2 outsell Resistance 2, but I'm pretty sure it WILL NOT X 1 outsell it =)

I don't see it happening personally, The first Motorstorm got really lucky off hype which 2 doesnt match, hell I bought the first 1 never beat itand there is no way in hell I will buy the sequel.

Maybe, it is probably a more popular type of game in EU, the strongest PS3 teritory

I think the increased hype will see resistance 2 do better sales, while i expect motorstorm 2 to achieve similar sales to motorstorm 1....i just think there are so many quality titles to choose from all being released at the same time that one game will suffer.

Motorstorm is VERY popular in EU.....and if the gobble up MS2 as THE racing game to buy at xmas thees very little NA can do to help RES 2...
