So far spore is entertaining for the first few hours at best. It quickly becomes repetitive and well...somewhat boring.

Yeah I can put a bigger jaw on the thing and give it a level 4 bite instead of a level 3 bite but it changes the gameplay not at all. Every part of the game you basically do the same 2-3 things over and over and over again...

No, just once. You have several "planets" (read: save spots) which you can populate and you can choose at which stage to start. You can only pick stages you have previously reached, so once you reach space age once you can always start off at space stage and you get to make your person all over again.
