Forums - Gaming - Real games on the iPhone/iTouch.

They just keep getting better. I wonder when this site will start recognizing it as a real handheld gaming device?

There are well over 400 games on the app store.

I've only looked at the first video so far. The framerate looks awful, but it is a Gameloft game after all. :P

I'm not sure if there would be much point in this site recognizing the iPhone as a gaming platform. The software sales are completely untrackable unless Apple start releasing figures, and the hardware probably moves through very different channels than other handhelds, making that much harder to track as well.

The frame rate on that game is great. It's a 15-20 fps YouTube video. You can't tell from that video, but I have the game, and it runs superbly.

Oh, and the iPhone is more powerful (both in GPU and CPU) then the PSP. The only knock is support and controls. Both so far have been really good.

CPU... well I agree, but you are such full of BS with the GPU. Sorry man but God of War on the go spoiled me and neither game I had ever seen on the Iphone prooves by far that its even close to achieve PSP like graphics level...

No one has attempted to create a game like God of War for the iPhone. If they did, it would look as good or better (not sure it would play as well with the control limitations however).

Yeah the psp is better.

with other apps running in the background you can not mess with. In what world would IPhone be a more powerful GAMING machine than PSP?

The racer and the puzzle game look interesting. The controls of the racer seem to nicely use the iphone features, but I think finger controls for the shooter and the puzzle game are retarded.
