There are already 2 threads for this (at least). Try one of those.
Yes but it is a weird one. Especially good for novice of the genre.

Buy it for the cake monster, keep it for Mario kissing Bowser
I heard it was amazing, I'm going to download ASAP when I get a 2000 card.
It's 1 of a kind. If you even remotely like old school RPG's and Mario games, and have never played it before, you should buy it immediately. That is, if you think retro games are worth getting legitimately at reasonable prices. The only down sides are that it's a little short, a little too easy, and for those that like drama, it's not the most serious RPG in the world. I think most people probably could have deduced that from the name, though. On the plus side, there's tons of variety and replay value, and I do mean tons of replay value. There's also, lots of secrets, that are a little more difficult than the rest of the game, but well worth it. Not to mention some entertaining fan service, for those that like that sort of thing. Definitely 1 of the best RPG's ever made.
The great thing about Mario RPG is that it's such an accessible game even for novices of the genre. It has arguably the best pace and flow of any traditional-style RPG... you are constantly moving on and characters level up at a perfect rate, so there's hardly any need for the tedious "level grinding" that accompanies most RPGs.
However this game is no push-over by any means.. you need to stay on top of your game and always be prepared for the next battle, because it gets tougher and tougher as you move along, but again, its at a gradual, almost perfect pace so you're never stuck in one area forever trying to level up so you can move on.
If you've never gotten to experience this game before, it is an absolute no brainer. $8... that's all it is... $8... I payed $64.99 when it came out over 12 years ago, and its still one of the best VG purchases I've ever made.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
