Forums - PC - Google to launch browser to compete with Microsoft

Typing this from Chrome. DEAR GOD the ads on this site are annoying, I have not seen even a single ad up until right now. Add-on people better hurry up and fill this void otherwise there is no way Chrome will be able to pull its own weight. Also my mouse pad can scroll down but it can't scroll up and it's extremely annoying. Third mouse button press also doesn't bring up the little arrow thing. There are definitely some problems with it. But other features are just damn cool.

Except that Google will hinder ad-blocking because it is their main source of revenue from searches.  Like Firefox 3 better though.  Firefox 3.1 ("Shiroteko") is in dev now so Google needs to get moving :)

Wow, I love this new browser. Very minimalistic. Lovely.

I like it too, fast loading and fast when it starts...

the only problem is I can't scroll up probably >_>

anyone else having this problem?

Nope, scrolling works perfectly for me.

What are you using mouse wheel or a mouse pad? Everything scrolls up fine except my mouse pad edges and it is extremely annoying.

Does anyone know how fast Chrome is in comparison to Opera? Opera seems to be the fastest web browser I've found. It's what I currently use.

I've read up a bit on Chrome, and it seems like one of their big focuses was the security of the browser, which is a plus. They also focused on keeping memory usage low.

I'm not really sure how many people will use this seeing how most people if they want something other than IE tend to go with Firefox, and IE isn't really that bad, but it's good for there to be competition because it forces all of the internet browser producers to work harder to make theirs the best which is a win situation for us, the users.

Thats why it will most likely hurt FF and Opera more than IE.  Most people are too lazy or just don't care about getting a different browser than IE, but the ones that do, now have another choice from a very big name.  And the browser is actually quite nice.

This one... I can scroll down just fine, but up............ no

^ Yep, same problem on my laptop too. Glad it's not just me. There's some annoying bugs in the thing yet so lets see how things go.
