Where did you get this graph? I think It might be flawed seeing as the PS3 started outselling the 360 at the beginning of the Christmas Season, yeet that graph shows the drop did not start till after it. That cant be right?@!?
Also the PS3 has accumilated at least a 1million lead over that time period so the graph should AT LEAST cave decreased a whole million in gap.

@forevercloud3000,
to my eyes (looking at VGC numbers) :
PS3 has outsold Xbox360 since about (end November07) / (start december 07) that is coherent with the graph.
PS3 reduced the gap by about 1.5M that is also coherent.

VGChartz Hardware data for the period 06th Oct 2007 to 29th Dec 2007:

PS3
X360

Dont forget the holiday season is coming up fast which accounts for a large percentage of console sales for the year. If the new upcoming 360 price cut does not have a large impact in the US expect to see the line become steeper and decrease even more thus closing a large part of the gap by the end of this fiscal year.

lol. still, if you count from the beginning of November (the traditional beginning of the VG holiday season) instead of October (post-Halo syndrome), the PS3 did out sell the 360 by a slight amount; but not enough to make the graph inaccurate. That didn't start until the middle of December.
Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

"Are you saying Fable 2 will be a dismal failure? LOL."
I might have used a bit of hyperbole. I don't expect it to get a Metacritic score as low as those of Infinite Undiscovery or Too Human. On the other hand, I don't expect it to receive a much higher review score from IGN than Ninja Gaiden II did either.
My most anticipated games: Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort. Cave Story Wiiware.
you know, you guys are right. My eyes made it seem as if the down spike did not start till December. Forgive my dislexic(SP?) eyes.

It's called Christmas.
I posted this in another thread:
...the ps3 could shave over a million off of the 360's lead this November and December alone, assuming the ps3 maintains a similar lead over the 360 percentage-wise throughout the holiday season. Sales will increase dramatically for both consoles over the holidays, as will the gap between them.
Last year the 360 sold 3.4 million over the holidays (November + December), and this year it's been selling much better on average than it was last year (though I suppose the increase may have started along with the price drop and release of Halo 3 last August/September, thus it will matter little from this point onwards), and the ps3 has been outselling the 360 on average ~34% for most of the year. Assuming the 360 ONLY sells 3.5 million or so between November and December, and assuming the ps3 outsells it by ONLY 25%, the ps3 would catch up to the 360 by 875k units. If the 34% trend holds true (and this and last week implies that the trend is only increasing - for now, at least), then the ps3 could outsell the 360 by 1.20 million. In only two months!
