microsft will get a strong third place next gen.^^^^^
but this isnt about that, its about how microsft as a hardware company has gone backwards instead of for forwards. i think it is the power of the cell destroying them though the Wifi in the ps3.

I think they rushed it out to beat Sony and the RROD was the cause, can they make one I think so will they is the question
PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.
Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

This is why I call people fanboys. Microsoft went backwards because they rushed a product. GET OVER IT!!! May the best man win next gen, leave it at that. You do know KNOW (Key word) who will be the leader next gen.
Let's not forget one very key issue here: there's a reason "Live for Windows" and "Games for Windows" exists.
Live is the primary reason to own a 360. If MS has ported it to Windows, I can only imagine that it's a contingency plan if they decide to get out of the hardware market and let the PC manufacturers handle that nonsense.
As a MS shareholder, I would be pushing for them to take the steam-rivaling online system they've built with Live and go software-only, as hardware has been nothing but a gigantic hassle for them.
"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks
This thread reeks of fanboyism.
Microsoft will be part of the next generation, and they are making money on the Xbox360 brand now.

MS lost 200$ million last quarter and Sony made profit of $50 million. Xbox360 brand is far from making any money with coming price cut.
Microsoft products were never about quality. Look at windows, full of flaws and bugs but they sold it anyway. MS has a big marketing machine, seems that all you need to sell your product ...
