Also, there DEFINITELY needs to be a Mario Galaxy level, where you're running around a planet trying to either up-smash them out of its' orbit or hit them off an edge into the black hole in the centre.

Any character you want cut: Marth, Ike, duplicate Links, drop half the Pokemon characters, drop DeDeDe, drop Ness or Lucas, drop Falco & Wolf, drop Ice Climbers, replace Zelda/Shiek with Zelda/Tetra or something like that, and how about having no more doppleganger characters?

Also, for the next incarnation, each character's moveset should be drastically overhauled so that it's not so easy to just pick up and stick with your favorite from "last time," and to differentiate from the previous title a little more.
