So the summer is coming to a close :( but what have you done, was it memorable, fun, stupid, painful etc.
Personaly I have had a packed summer for once, and whenever I havent been at a festival or on a journey I have been with my friends having a beer and playing brawl.
The first part of my summer was a weekend at WOMAD music festival which has very random types of music from around the world. I went here the day after I broke up which meant I missd the majority of the end of year celebrations but it was worth it cos I was with friends anyway. I also had my 17th birthday on this weekend which I celebrated after midnight with a load of cool but random people in the electro tent.
The day after I came back I was on my way to Turkey with my family, this was great, I went paragliding with my dad, quad biking with my brother, but my mum refused to do either. And at night me and my brother found a brilliant night club called Crusoes who serve sushi and have a foam night every few days.
I had one days rest after all this which I basicaly slep through, I was then on my way to Cropredys Fairport Convention some strange hippie folk festival which I go to cos my parents work on security there and Iv been going with a giant group of people since I was 2 so its a very social event as I see those people just once a year. This year however I was interested in the lineup for the first time in 15 years, Supergrass, The Levellers and Legen (the main Bob Marley tribute band) all played and they were all great.
I then had a weeks rest to get clean and rejuvenated before it was time for Reading Festival the highlite of my year. This year I went and camped with atleast 20 of my friends, I managed to see all the bands that I wanted to see and even discovered somebrand new ones. The musical highlites of the weekend were:
1- Justice
2- Simian Mobile Disco
3- The Killers
4- Pendulum
5- The Enemy
... 6- MGMT
Other highlites include befriending countless people including a legendary guy by the name of "poonwrecker" and a guy named peter who let 7 of us kip in his 2 man tent and eat all of carrots... dont ask why we wanted carrots :S Finding a full unopened bottle litre of malibu was also great.
Overall my summer has been the best of my life so far. Hows yours been???
