You practically can't run and jump with the GC controller button layout, classic controller is the only way to go for SMW.

 I'm a person who can speedrun Super Mario World in an hour or less and the memory of that dreaded level still gives me nightmares. It's just too hard, and I can't remember how in fuck hell I made it through.

Super Mario World is without a doubt my favorite 2D-platformer ever, and I love that genre!

Me and my boyfriend got through it playing on Virtual Console but it took us AT THE VERY LEAST 50 lives to get it.

Super Mario World is probably the best game ever created. It's a tie between Ocarina of Time and Super Mario World, but Mario aged better.

Yes indeed, Tubular is the worst. Chocolate Island 3 plus secret exit without cheating (no Yoshi) is pretty bad though.

My favourite level (for obvious reasons) is Top Secret Area, the secret exit to the Donut Ghost House.

dude, spend the $20. The classic controller is the best option for nearly every VC system.

Wiimote = NES, MS, Genesis, and some other select games.
Classic = SNES, Genesis, tg16, neogeo, and some other select games.
GC = N64 only and not all of the games.

I actually sold all of my wavebirds because I knew I would be fine with two classics.

 

 yeah, I need a classic.

SMW was definately one of the greatest games ever made.
Finding all the 96 exits (or goals) was a tough job at the time. Without any walkthrougs or similar.
