I had a hunch to go check out the local Toys R Us today as I was passing by, and lo and behold, there werelike 4-5 Wii Fits out on the table. Must have been good timing as 3 were already snatched up by people who hadn't checked out yet.
So I got Wii Fit, probably the most unorthodox device I'd owned for videogames sinces the NES Powerglove. Yet, I remained optomistic, with all the positivity on the device. I got it started and was told that I'm overweight (tho just above the normal BMI line) and we got to work. I have to say, I am impressed with the thought out minigames, how it makes use of the device and your body overall. The one that didn't make sense was the running in place one, asyou can stand there and swing the wii controller and make the char move. I easily mastered the tightrope game, and pretty much stink at the bubble river game.
The actual excercises go beyond what I'd currently been doing (when I was doing it), so the workout program inside Wii Fit is an improvement over what my normal workout was (minus for archery and surfing of course). I broke a sweat several times during the training. Good exercise.
After about an hour of Wii Fit, I rechecked my body test and I'd lost 1.3 pounds in the process. Guess there's something to be said for this little system. Hell, I might just be able to trade this mini keg in for a 6-pack after all! *pats belly*Most importantly, I can have fun doing it, something I never could do when I used to go to the gym. (in fact, I hated the gym and all the muscle heads there)
Good stuff, definitely lives up to and exceeds expectations!
