Left 4 Dead: Delayed 2 November 20

Valve's four-player fix of zippy-fast zombie action has been pushed back a bit, but thankfully not 28 days later; just 16. Left 4 Dead had been slated to hit PC and Xbox 360 on November 4, but its evil will instead take up residence on your platform of choice November 20. The date is significant in that it's the 10th anniversary of another Valve game you may have heard about – the original Half-Life.

If you just can't stand a first week of November devoid of something new to play, fear not. Might we suggest: Fallout 3 (Oct. 28) or a little game called Gears of War 2 (Nov. 7).

Wow. Releasing after Gears. That will probably hurt sales of the 360 version. I mean, I'd definitely try to get out any and all shooters before the monster that is Gears releases, cannibalizing sales.

Only Call of Duty could hold up against that franchise this Holiday.

mmmm ... I can, once again, taste those bitter tears.

Better after I would say, if it released a week before Gears would just cut the legs right out from under it. At least coming a few weeks after gives it the breathing room to not get swamped by Gears hype.

Tease.

I agree move it away from Gears since they are both 360 3rd person shooters. Gears would overwhelm this game since Gears has the adverstisng and brand name already. I am looking forward to this game myself, valve rarely goes wrong.

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Its better than releasing it on the same release date as Gears 2! And before Gears 2, you have Fable 2 and Fallout 3 within a week of each other, so this delay will help sales (Thanksgiving as well).

Um, L4D is first-person... other than that, you're spot on!

Yeah, releasing after Gears of war 2 is a better idea, gives people a good solid 2 weeks to complete Gears of war 2's story mode and then they can purchase Left 4 dead and play a bit of both online, i have no probs with the date been put back a little bit

Actually, L4D is first person.

But yeah, I think it's better to put a little more space between this and Gears 2. There still isn't much time between them, though. The whole Q3/Q4 line-up is way too heavy, IMO. Funny thing to complain about, I guess, but where were these games in Q1/Q2!?

Damnit, I'm looking forward to this! Oh well, more time for working out then...
