Forums - Sales - nintendomination to end come september

i believe that come september the sales charts willfeature less and less wii releases and more and more PS3/360 titles

as the effects of the brawl/wiifit/mario kart trio start waring off there wont be many big titles to replace them. the wii will see moderae successes with multiplats such as call of duty and other Activion titles as well as some console exclusives like deadly cretures, de blob and tales 2. But the wiis big guns arnt being released until 2009 (with the exception of wii music and animal crossing).

this is just software though as hardware will still be very strong ass will the DS

what do you guys think?

Brawl hasn't been on the chart for a bit, but if Japan is anything to judge by Wii Fit and Mario Kart will keep selling throughout the year at least. Animal Crossing is also going to be a major seller. And, like it or not, Wii Music will probably be as well. This doesn't count stuff like Guitar Hero etc., although third parties aren't as assertive on the Wii just yet. No, I'm confident that the Wii will keep moving the software come this holiday season.

Doubt it. The Wii will continue to do well during Christmas and even before that, due to it's cheap price point and ton of casual games.

pffft this September are you crazy?

Nintendomination ended a long time ago =P

No chance the Wii will also be a monster in software selling!
So many people will buy the Wii and they will also buy games...

I think there are several Wii Titles which will see a return to higher sales over the holiday season (Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart and Wii Fit) in part because a lot of people who buy a system will buy (at least) one of these games; if the Wii does sell 10+ Million units from now until the end of the year, it won't take an amazing attach rate to sell millions of copies of these games over the same time period.

Another thing is there are certain multiplatform games that may sell many more units on the Wii than the other systems (Lego Batman, Starwars: The Force Unleashed, and Guitar Hero World Tour), many third party games with a track record of selling over a million on the Wii (MySims Kingdom,  Cooking Mama: World Kitchen, Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party), several third party titles that could see break out success (De Blob, Samba De Amigo, Starwars The Clone Wars), and Nintendo still has Animal Crossing and Wii Music which both have the potential to be very big sellers over the holiday season.

Those games keeps selling and there's no stopping them... and there is a lot of third party games coming out before the holiday season, and then Animal Crossing is also on the horizon and it might make a big splash in hardware and would probably be in the same leg race as Mkwii, Brawl, and wii fit. then I expect wii music to follow them as well.

Nintendo has plenty of casual titles that will appeal to the casual buyers in addition they have great core software with animal crossing, rb2, ghwt, de blob, forced unleashed, spore, etc etc.

Nope. Every week at least 6 of the top ten will reside on a Nintendo console.

Wait, do you mean Nintendo games or games on Nintendo consoles.

If just Nintendo games, well, then maybe there will only be 3 or so in the top ten, with the possible exception when big multiplatform 3rd party games release.

If games on Nintendo consoles (i.e. Wii and DS), then you are wrong.
