Forums - Sales - What SSBB needs to do to hit 10 million.

SSBB is one of those "must have" title for all ages. 10M is inevitable.

I don't know. Honestly, I believe Brawl appeals to "only" 15-30 year old males. Of course not just those, but they are by far the main purchasers.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Possibly.... Brawl might have a big boost this X-mas and slowly reach it's 10 million target by possibly late '09... it might sell faster if they lower the price down... but I don't Nintendo would do that.

15-30 year old males? It certainly appeals to little kids. Brawl was not made to mostly appeal to hardcore gamers, it was made to appeal to everyone. It has a large section of Nintendo characters, easy to use control, and mini-games so casuals should eat it up.

My 4 years old nephew could beat me at Brawl :(

Funny thing is. I found him repeatedly doing falcon punch as Kirby...

Yeah, but that isn't what happened. I just looked at Europe Nintendo channel, and that seems to agree with me.

I'm not saying that other people can't play it, but those are the main audience. Heck, I myself am not in the area I myself pointed out, but I still love the game.

And little kids? It's rated 13+, and I believe that (at least in Europe) many parents are very careful about letting their children play overaged games (I disagree with them, but it's the situation).

The people I know personally in America that like the game are a 23 year old female and 3 kids under 15.  Non of the 15-30 year olds that I know who love Mario Kart like SSBB.  One even claims it is a kiddie only game and makes fun of me for playing it.  Maybe the reason the game has far better sales in America than Europe is because it appeals to a larger user base in America (including kids).

Anadoctal data doesn't really help in this case. I know 3 other people who own a Wii, while I know ~ 20 with a Ps3 and ~ 15 with a 360. Does this mean that's how the hardware is in Norway?

It will need to sort out the crap online system. I don't even bother playing online because I hate only being able to play stupid 2 minute battles rather than stock battles unless you are playing with friends and none of my registered friends ever seem to be online when I play. If it had half the online system Mario Kart had it would get to 10 million. As it is I don't think it will while Mario Kart will breeze past 15 million.

Tuoyo makes a good point,i think the online system is whats holding it back, nintendo should release an update and tehy should mail it to every wii SSBB owners.

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

It needs to fix it's online, simple.
