Because every time a PSP is bought, a baby dies...............seriously man, it's just a paint job on a PSP, no need to screw up your life over a design.

wow that's pretty shocking. My girlfriend just dropped my two year old DS lite in a carpark. That ground wasn't exactly soft, and put a couple of scratches in the corners, but apart from that absolutely no issues. My DS has been through a lot but runs fine apart from that damn hinge crack...
Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!
because the PSP-3000 isnt out yet.

Let me make it easy for you:

Don't get the PSP Light (2000), wait for the PSP Bright (3000)!

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

Well it has been slowly losing its 3rd party support to DS.
Plus what good what it do if you wont be able to buy games for it.
I say hold it off for a bit until you make some more cash, pay all the bills, and then when you have sparce change left, buy it.

You make it sound like a bad thing.
Doesn't this principal apply to most of the consumer electronics (from companies still alive)?

Except in Video Game Consoles we've come to expect some consistancy. Unles of course you're advocating Home Consoles should behave more like PCs. All the new PS3 SKUs and 360 versions that have emerged since launch have been somewhat of an oddity this generation.

These days handhelds lose their appeal much quicker than actual consoles.
