Since I keep seeing concerns that all Microsoft did was expand the warranty, but will continue to produce 360s with the current design flaw, I thought I should post this article as a new thread.

It's funny but this may spur 360 sales more than PS3 sales after their price drop. I may even get an elite now. ;)

They are just announcing that they put a heatpipes around the GPU. It was announced on bit-tech like 2 months ago. They arent smart enough to remove the X-Clamp.

And the arstechnica article specifically states that they did not explicitly say it was the new heatsinks, so it could be something different. 

I think they should just redesign the system, if they aren't working on it already. They've been cutting shipments, so a redesign this holiday season won't hurt the original stock sales, and they already showed they are willing to eat up repair costs of the current design.

Maybe they are fixing the disc scratching problems along with the melting box.

Yeah because we've all seen the melting 360 pictures in forum postings.  Seriously dude I have a feeling that you'll be "almost graduating" for a long long looooong time.

When I say melting it does not really mean melting do you get it? It is the same as saying most of your posts are retarded. This does not mean your IQ is below 80, on the contrary I think you may score high 90`s. Do you understand or should I use puppets to explain it to you?

The disc scratching problems have already been sorted since they wre sue to 360 DVD drive which lacked a protective rubber band which is now included. With regards to the meling problems, ( I assume you are reffering to the solder) this has also been changed as they switched from copper based solders. I can roughly explain why the copper solders were bad if you would like?
