I'm afraid you're going to have to be more specific on who exactly was spitting on MS for moneyhatting. Otherwise you'll get no results.

As for me, if people truly think that MS didn't moneyhat to get IU and timed exclusivity for TLR (as I've seen some claim) I see no reason that this has to be a moneyhat. Now if you (like me) admit that there was mostly moneyhatting involved for TLR and IU, then I will admit that there is mostly moneyhatting involved for Mirror's edge.

Can it be considered moneyhatting for Infinite Undiscovery when Microsoft was originally going to publish it and (apparently) owns the IP?

Hmmm....I don't know, how bout we just stick to TLR since I'm not well versed enough on IU and haven't kept up with it?  I ammend my previous statement to be just TLR since I don't know enough about IU.

Okay. With Last Remnant, I wouldn't be surprised at all. It seems that generally all versions of a game are delayed if there's a hang-up with the development of one version, plus the PC version is also being delayed when there should be no problems with it and the Unreal Engine. So I think it's very likely MS paid so they could have Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, and The Last Remnant all in the latter half of '08.

what is EDGE

Mirror's Edge.

Are we talking about Mirrors Edge, or is EDGE another game?

If we are talking about Mirrors Edge, then I don't think it is a moneyhat. DICE have PS3 as the lead platform, so maybe only the PS3 version will be ready for the holiday season. Similar to TLR, but the other way round.

$ony strikes again!

How does it feel, Sony fan, to have someone say that to you?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

@Tombi
But I can't see how they would be ready with the PS3 one before the PC given that games are developed on the PC to start with (to the best of my knowledge)

I have to assume that Sony offered them something if this turns out to be true.

lol

This situation could be similar to the one with UT3. Sony didn't moneyhat Epic, they simply released it on the PS3 and PC first (btw PC sales = M$ money) for the user generated content, which isn't allowed on the XBL closed system.

Mirror's Edge is, evidently, being built first on the PS3, all gameplay footage has only been on the PS3 and nobody even knows where the 360 version stands right now. So ME coming on the PS3 first could be a no brainer.

I doubt M$ moneyhatted Valve for The Orange Box. They probably moneyhatted for Rock Band. You have to pay attention to each situation for every game in order for the notion of moneyhatting can even be brought up

What the fuck...

i thought this was being made on the ps3 platform first then being ported. and if that is correct then it only makes sense that once the ps3 one is completed to go ahead and ship it out (especially if its ready by this holiday season, makes money). this makes you money while you are busy porting it to the other platforms. and if it is a good game, gets awesome reviews and what not, that gets people excited for when it hits their platform and then they go and buy it.

this is a win win for EA and sony. i doubt sony moneyhat this title, its just how the cards were dealt by EA

I don't think it's anything to to with the development of Mirror's Edge. DICE themselves have said that as far as they know, it's still supposed to be a simultaneous release for PS3, PC, and 360, but that it's possible contracts have been signed at a higher level.

Same thing goes for Mirror's Edge as for The Last Remnant. Even if there's a hang up with the 360 version (seems unlikely since PS3 -> 360 is supposed to be easier than vice versa), there's no reason the PC version shouldn't be ready.
