ok i have been doing monthly sales comparisons of the ps2 2001 vs ps3 2008 in others. The ps2 sold 5,635,965 units through 2001 in total others alone. and i think the ps3 can beat that, i would have put the ps3 higher but closer looks at the data shows that a bulk of ps'2s sales came in December which probably means it was supply constraint through the year and sony were stocking up for the holiday season.

Perhaps you should PM a mod.

PS3 easly outsells PS2 others numbers from 2002 in 2008. It is impossible not to see that PS3 will become more popular than PS2. The market today is very different than in the last gen. The industry as a whole wants this generation to last a long time, and PS3 has way more future potential than the competition. This year PS3 is already selling way beyond many peoples expectations, and it has done that with very few AAA games and price tag way above it's competition. Next year PS3 will continue to go beyond what people are expecting it to do. with lower prices and an even bigger array of AAA games next year will change the look of this generation. PS3 is the first console ever to become more viable with every year it is on the market. Blu-ray and PS3 walk hand in hand. This year was a we saw a small increase due to Blu-rays victory, and it will only grow more ang more people move up to Blu-ray.
