Looks like Sunday you can save $100 off of a PS3.
Not sure if this is just Circuit City or official price change...

Update #1: According to GameDaily.biz, a nationwide price drop for the 60 GB PS3 to $499 will become effective on July 12. This info comes from a "merchandising manager (who wished to remain anonymous) at one of the world's biggest retailers."
Original story: The latest flyer for electronics retailer Circuit City has a very interesting ad. It shows the 60 GB PS3 with a $499.99 price, $100 lower than the current retail price. This is the flyer for July 15 - 21, meaning this price break would go into effect the week after E3. It's worth stressing that this is by no means confirmation of a nationwide price drop, as it could simply be a Circuit City promotion (though that seems unlikely).
Well I think everyone saw it coming. Surprises me that it was this quick though. I would've thought they'll wait till right before some big software hits. Though there isn't anything major in store so maybe they figured might as well steal as much thunder from microsoft/nintendo as they can now.
They have to drop the prices....the PS3's sales are dropping, even from what it has been the last month. Sony just can't let the 360 rebound after they announce their heatsink fix for the 3 red rings problem.
There's a nation wide price drop on the 12th, one day after Sony's E3 conference.
The jig is up, they are announcing a price drop at E3.

Sooner than I expected but a good decision at this point.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!
Gamedaily is reliable. I put this in the news section. Do we think Microsoft will react? Will Nintendo?
