Play the game first judge the developer later, Silicon Knights strong point is storytelling.
Games like Eternal Darkness: Sanity Requiem, Metal Gear Solid:Twin Snakes(i know its a remake),Legacy of Kain:Blood Omen are great. I want to try Too Human first to form an opinion on this game. Reviewers are too harsh on the game for no particular reasons, they judge the loot system for god sake and the senario of the game.
I believe all this generate negative hype because the fat words Dyack keeps saying about his game(i can blame the guy he spent 10 years making it,its his vision) and they try to humble him by bashing his game.
I want to remind you the editorial about the review system this site wrote about the praise GTA(overrated) got. Was it worth it? So Too Human is a new ip,made by a promising canadian company and its a trilogy so lets wait playing it first and make our conclusions.
I believe Dyack made the wrong decision porting his development for too human on the 360 i hope sales doesn't prove me right.
I do have to give him credit for innovating an entirely new development cycle with Too Human... The "three generation" approach to developing this game was quite amazing and, dare I say it, revolutionary.

Thank you Dennis, but our cash is in another castle.
@Akira: I believe Dyack pissed everyone in the industry and it's effecting the scores, while Dyacks attitude "anyone who doesn't think Too Human is the greatest game ever created, is a retard" isn't helping. I'm not saying Too Human wovld be a good game, but without Dyacks "PR" it would propably score higher.

Well I played Too Human for several hours last night and for me I think it's a bit underrated. And it certainly isnt a 5.5. They polished the game up since the demo and for me the story is pretty interesting so far. Dyack does need to stfu about this innovative thing. Yes this game hasnt been done as many times as an FPS (on consoles) but there are games out there like it. His blabbering is tarnishing what little rep this game even has. Either way if you play the game and are a fan of Diablo or similar titles I think you'll enjoy it. Id give it around and 8-8.5 but im a fan of this type of genre.

Thats exactly my point, he is the developer of the game and this is his work what were you expecting?Bash his own game? Reviewers must be more responsible and take their job seriously because people read them and trust them about what's their opinion in every game.
BUT to manipulate the truth about a good game turning it bad because the developer is overconfident about his game,is wrong.
Too Human took a decade to come in fruition and microsoft wanted steam for their new console,i was excpecting this game since it announced on the GameCube 7 years ago. So i will give it a try and see what all the fuss is about.
But to justify the bad development status of too human must be put on Epic's Unreal3 engine. Silicon wanted to make their own engine and microsoft force them to use Epic's tools....Part of some stupid deal with microsoft studios to keep exclusive somes games that utilizes Epic's technology and to help them build the game more quickly.
Now we see this bad decisions affecting the game as an all. Too bad Dyack joined forces with microsoft studios for Too Human i believe their philosofy in gaming is on par with Nintendo's and Konami's but the money is on M side. Too bad for him i feel sorry for Silicon Knights.
We are part of this problem also we ask for innovation and new ips but when they come out we never buy them some examples are: Okami,Viewtiful Joe,God Hand,P.N 03,No More Heroes,Killer7,Eternal Sonata,Baiten Kaitos,Virtua Fighter 5,Nights so many new concepts and evolutions on gameplay and no one interested in them. So keep on buying HALO 13,GTA:L.A,IronMan the Movie,Carnival Games,my Horse and Me and Wii Fit and keep on bitching about innovation that you will never see even if it in front of you.
Do you think Dyack is wrong now???See the above games in sales and prove him wrong.
@Akira: The thing where Dyack is wrong, is that it's not the developers to decide whether the game is good or bad (neither is the gaming press), but it's for the gamers to decide. Eventually the review score doesn't matter, it's the sales that matter.
By the way, since your list had Wii Fit, i'm interested why was it there? It's new IP, it's innovative and sells good.
Basically you have only two opposites, either you make a game with big budget that sells in big numbers or a smaller budget game which can profit with smaller sales.
Viewtiful Joe, Killer7, NMH for example was made to test new grounds, but they also had relatively small budged. Also, NMH is the best selling Goichi Suda game so far, so it definately wasn't a dissappointment saleswise.
So, when you are going to do something innovative or presenting new IP, you need to do it with a small budget, otherwise it's really bad management. Where Dyack is in the right track, is making a series, when it advances creates more momentum, but the first one should have had smaller budget, which could have been raised for the second part, if sales of the first one justifies it. When your enthusiasm towards the project decides its budget, that's when you're in deep shit financially, since you're not doing it anymore for your customers, but yourself and you propably aren't the majority of potential customers (this by the way is industrywide problem, the only ones who seem to know how the thing works, are the big ones that put out shovelware to "test ground").
