Forums - Gaming - Why are you against FF13 going multiplat?

By going multiplat, more people can experience the same game you love, the series gaining even more fans.

That will in turn make is possible for sequels coming faster and you can then again, enjoy the gaming goodness follows.

The only reason it shouldn't go multiplat is when the "porting" results in a lose instead of profit.

AFAIK, FF13 is being created on PC, which is then port to PS3 and Xbox 360.

We also know that it's easier to port from PC to Xbox 360.

Logically, it cost them way less to have the game on Xbox 360 than PS3. Hence, less chance of a lose.

So, it not only benefits the developers, it benefits you, too. Why are you resisting?

I'm not, but people are angry because this lowers the value of their console of choice (assuming they chose PS3), and lowers it's chances of beating the 360 in the long run. I'd assume.

not agains't it, but since the are going to delay english version til 360 (even it just like 3 months its a huge wait for someone who waited since announcement).
my take, learn japanese.

I'm very upset, it should be on PC, Wii, DS, PSP, iPhone, and mobiles too. Then Sq-En would be selling 7 versions to me.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Can someone tell me where this is coming from? From what I've read, they aren't delaying anything, but they're developing the 360 version at the same time as the translation for the PS3-version is going on, which only means that that's the reason the 360 version won't be released in Japan. Why does everyone say it's going to be delayed because of it?

I'm not as I don't have a 360 or PS3 but there is a potential reason to be upset, the fact that more and more games are becoming multi-platform rather than exclusive in my opinion has a fairly significant effect on the competitiveness of the market. As far as I'm concerned the more competition in the market the better it is for consumers.

go fetch me a sandwich son make it quick!

what u said is true when u look at FF alone

i'm against it because square-enix is releasing nothing special for the ps3

if the 360 RPGs get ported to the ps3 then i have no problem

PS : can we get halo or gears of war ?

At first I thought it might mean that less effort would go into the title as the work would be split up onto two consoles. But theyre gonna complete the game first and it will be worked on by a different team for the 360, so I've heard. So I'm okay with that.
The other thing is, I like exclusive games better as the take advantage of one console in particular. Whether this is something to worry about or not at the moment I dont know, considering up until this point theyve only been developing with the PS3 in mind.
If they can make it work on both consoles. That would be great.

Well I am disappointed in Square Enix and Sony for letting it become multiplatform, but my main concern is that the loss of XIII as an exclusive wil cause less jRPGs to come to the PS3, and I want them to come to the PS3 to make sure it does well. I know it does not really make much sense for me to think like this as I have an Xbox, so I would be getting the jRPGs anyway, but I do prefer my PS3

My other concern was that it would cause an inferior PS3 version, which it fortunately wont

However, my main problem is that it delays the game coming to English speaking territories (from where I can import!)
