The list says Microsoft in general is the 5th most innovative company in the world, beating out Sony and Nintendo. Not Microsoft's game division.

BusinessWeek says that Microsoft is an innovative company as a whole, it doesn't say anything about its games division.

Sony's online experience is attributed to Microsoft's competition. Secondly Sony is nowhere as innovative as Nintendo. Their controller was stolen from a Pelican tilt controller and the Microsoft and Logitec Motion controller concept.

Exactly and if it wasn't for Microsoft and others. There would be no inspiration for Six Axis. Microsoft already admitted to having huge respect for the Sega Dreamcast and making their system partially off of the concept.

While I agree that Sony may be the most innovative with their games (of the console manufacturers), I think it's easier for them to have that title as they make a lot of games...
Plus it depends on, what is a Sony game and what isn't. What does second party clarify as? By the way, it is Microsoft in general being rated -- 80 percent by a propritary survey, not the Entertainment Division only or the Xbox 360 only.

sony has been taking alot of chances the past year
most of the games they are really pushing are kinda new and interesting
LBP, Flower, DCU online
now if they can stop hyping shooters they could continue this path
