Forums - Nintendo - Hiroshi Yamauchi and Golden Sun

I loved Golden Sun and I look forward to new Golden Sun games.  Question is, will Yamauchi produce these games?  Yes, he's retired and yes Camelot is busy with Mario Golf and Tennis titles but that doesn't mean this franchise should be completely ignored.  Any thoughts on Yamauchi producing a possible DS or Wii Golden Sun title?

Busy producing Mario Golf and Tennis? Link please? That would be freaking awesome!

I'm exited, but you probably have no proof :(

I don't, but it seems that Mario Golf and Mario Tennis are the biggest games, they make these days.

Isn't Hiroshi Yamauchi the old Nintendo President before Satoru Iwata? The guy who was a businessman and not a game developer? The guy who banished Square from the Nintendo family? I don't think he ever directly had his hands involved with games. He was more of an overseer who dealt with business issues.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

He was the executive producer of both Golden Sun games.

Executive Producers don't do anything. If you are the president of a game company. You're the executive producer of every game.

You are young, isn't it ?

Executive Producer is who bring the money to develop the software ( and is always the CEO of the company that publish it).

In the case of a Nintendo, the CEO at that time (2001) was still Hiroshi "Steel" Yamauchi.

Liking that pride avatar but I see now.. Sorry :\ I am indeed a fool.  I know what I like but I don't know much about business related aspects of developing games.

Camelot's not making a Mario Golf. They're making that Capcom golf game with Miis and the Capcom characters and online golfing in it. It's gonna kick ass. I forget when it comes out. It's already out in Japan, but they delayed the U.S. version to add more Capcom characters, refine the swinging, and add online. It's either already out or coming soon. I forget. Camelot kicks ass.
