Now they just need to movie the left analog stick so it matches the right one. Movement and sight feel more sync if the sticks are mirrored.

I can see two reasons for the decision:
1. Currency exchanges. They'll be able to make money that way, when USD is low and release it in NA when it goes up a little.
2. To gain foothold. Outside of NA, 360 doesn't really sell too good. This way a) they offer "something special" for the regions and b) show that they can release stuff first to somewhere else before NA.

Oh how wrong you are... Its been proven that better aiming can be done if the sticks are appart like that. We just need buttons on the back on the xbox controller and then they have done it and created a perfect FPS controller...

Old school platformers

Tetris

Exactly.  They sell butt ugly controllers to others now and use money to make pretty controllers for us later.  ^_^
