Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft supply issues in Japan(no more 360's till september)

How could MS not shipping more units for their biggest release of the year.

JRPG's aren't Microsofts biggest releases. They are one of many hot titles under timed exclusivity. Microsoft is becoming more well rounded with the JRPGS and its focused on making an impact in Japan where JRPGs are hot. It doesnt mean that a JRPG title is the biggest release of the year.

Clever girl. That was genius. Build up the demand for the product and let it burst during the moment you drop the price of the console. This is the same concept Nintendo used in the US.

What are you talking about?

I'm talking about holding back whatever demand is left in Japan, until September when the 360 price drops. MS most likely will commercialize it to hell with the price drop and boast JRPG's (Even though timed exclusives). In simplistic terms, think about overly expanding Japan's balloon with hype and allowing the anticipation to weld up before it bursts until September when they ship the models to Japan. September is the month of the price drop, so it is the perfect time to give the Japanese a treat of this magnitude.

I thought price drop is only in NA. There won't be price cut in Europe at least because there was a price cut few months ago. And now it's cheaper than Wii here.

I keep reading these reports and threads on 360's sold out in Japan. It's NOT true! In Fukuoka where I live there are plenty and plenty of cheap second-hand ones too.

I went into 2 Geo's and 2 independents today and they all had new 360's. No ToV bundles though.

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.

TOP 12: Deus Ex, Shadow Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturn, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Metroid Prime, Zelda (series), Uncharted (series), FF Tactics, Persona (series), Demons Souls, Vagrant Story.

MOST WANTED: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Last Guardian, ICO/Shadow OTC HD

Sounds like M$ propaganda to me.

only one week of 24,000 sales and the retailers are dry? Does Microsoft not know how to capitalize on momentum?

No, ToV move more then 24 000 consoles. Usually 360 is around 1500-2000 per week in Japan. For 7 weeks this is around 12 000. Now look at Japan data. For last 7 weeks MS sold around 50 000 consoles.
ToV move +38 000 units. Thouse are units for more then 21 normal weeks.

I just went into the 2 biggest game/electronic stores(Bic Camera and Sofmap) in Nagoya about 2 hours ago and they were the same as they were last week, SOLD OUT of all 360 models (Arcade/Pro/Elite and of course no ToV bundles at all).

edit: I haven't checked again this week, but the GEO near my place I went to last week was also Sold out.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

Makes sense.

i think they have given basically all new shipments to europe and USA and none to Japan
