Holy Crap? What the hell is happening? 360 outselling PS3, then sold out in Japan? Wow...

Either the the Devil has an air conditioner or Hell is starting to freeze!

it's funny to sellout when you sell just about 30k in one week. They're restocking folks.

That's 10 weeks' supply for the Xbox 360!

With the PS3 out of its way in Japan, I predict MS will begin targeting the Wii's perch atop the sales chart.

wait, if 360 is sold out in japan for a month, wont that mean barely any 360s will be sold in that month?

Excuse me if I'm skeptical of this "sell out" of something that sells so little each week.

Not too sure how that can happen when you only sell 5k units per week.

I'm sure that you have plenty of units to ship more than 5k a week to a region.

Why would you ship more than that, if on one will take them?  The object of the game is to make just enough for what you need, so as not to waste.  Apparently they underestimated the amount of help ToV would give.

Hm... This is interesting... however, they killed off most consumers who weren't Die-hard fans wanting to buy it. I think that by the end of this month the 360 will have sold 1 million in Japan (330,000)

They better have some ready for Infinite Undiscovery, which is September 11th. I guess the next few weeks of h/w sales will be supply constrained for them.

It comes out later in Japan then it does in the US?

Yep, the US gets it a week earlier. Don't remember any jRPGs like that. I have to say MS has done a good job with keeping the Western fanbase in mind with their jRPG releases.

Well, IU definitely has quite a few things that most JRPGs don't that make it more appealing to Western gamers(kind of like Lost Odyssey):

1.realistic(for a JRPG anyway) art style

2.an action oriented battle system

3.the fact that Tri-Ace have Western gamers in mind when developing their games(it's true, I swear)

Look at Lost Odyssey, it sold quite well in the West.  However, it would have sold even better if the battle system was action based and that is one of IU's advantages for its chances of selling well in the West.

All that is needed now is a decent marketing campaign.  I wouldn't be supised if Microsoft help S-E market it, if not do the marketing themselves, since they still own the IP since they were the original publishers like Nintendo did with Tales of Symphonia.

Yeah I think this was the first time there was really any kind of a demand for it.

The latest small bi-plane full of 360s headed to Japan must be late.
