Source? I think that the lack of any developer internally Nintendo specialized in JRPG was the primary motive.

Iwata when spoke to investors said that the acquisition was favorable thanks to a share vision between Nintendo and Monolith.

However I think that the merge between Bandai and Namco ( Nintendo had 3-4% of shares in Bandai while Namco had over 80% in Monolith ) was favorable to the acquisition.

By that I think they're going to incorporate certain things in Disaster (drama, interaction with major things and in Disaster's case the natural disasters, etc.)

However who i so stupid to think that a game that had  had already an advertaisment phamplet in Japan can be canned ?

i've been wanting to play this game since they announced it!

But with the constant delays it makes me think that the game still needs plenty of work, but i think it'll be worth the wait because i think the concept of the game and the studio (monolith) thats working on it give the game monster potential

The game must've needed a lot of work to have relatively no new info released for several months. They can delay it as long as they want if it's for quality. I'm guessing the gameplay needed to attain new features like WiiMotion Plus or something, or the storyline needed an upgrading.
