Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo confirms that Disaster is still being worked on

And yet people will probably keep on saying it is canned. I hope it releases in Japan this year, and the U.S sometime early next year.

Give us something Nintendo!

Is this going to be the Big N's Lair?

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I thought this game was canned, put it in a can with Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles:CB too. Can't Wii games stay vaporware like Sadness did.

Yea I read that at n4g I like short answers.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The thread made me laugh.

"Nintendo confirms that Disaster is still being worked on"

Nintendo: Disaster Day of Crisis is still being worked on.

There you have it.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

They bought Monolith Studios for this game guys. Come on. We all know Nintendo loves money to a ridiculous degree so they weren't going to buy a studio only to cancel the game they were working on...

Disaster: Day of Crisis 'still in development' says Nintendo

It's not a complete disaster: Wii owners still waiting for mature-themed games from Nintendo proper can keep hope alive.

Disaster still in the works

"Disaster: Day of Crisis is still in development," a Nintendo of America representative told GamePro on Monday. Unfortunately, the representative would not comment on a tentative release date or when Nintendo might divulge further information.

The verbal confirmation is the second in as many years from Nintendo, who in 2007 also said the game was still being developed, though subsequent updates have been virtually non-existent.

Last week, Disaster received a mature rating from the Australian Classification Board, one of only two game updates this year. In May, developer Monolith Soft said the game had been postponed indefinitely to "increase the quality of the finished product."

After more than two years with few official updates, many gamers expected Disaster to go the way of Project Hammer, another game unveiled at E3 2006 to be published by Nintendo that was eventually shelved. Unlike Disaster, Hammer was playable at E3 2006.

Disaster: Day of Crisis is a survival game where players must escape various natural disasters in an effort to (you guessed it) stay alive. That's about all we know.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I never doubt for a second it would be canceled.

Doesn't he mean reworked rather then worked on? This game is not going to be anything like what the trailers depicted it to be. By the time you see this game it will have seen a drastic rewrite, and will be far more casual friendly. Also expect it to come packed with another peripheral. I know some kind of motion detecting hula hoop.
