...Do you find that fourth is dissapointing?

Here are games that I have played from first game to fourth.

Metal gear solid = :Indeed great ending to game, hit me with hammer to face at the end, but still Snake is not such a hero like David Hayter said sometime ago.Didint hit me like Mgs 1 or Mgs 2.

Devil May Cry = What can I say?Devil may cry 1 was first game to me at Ps2 and whoa I played it at Dante Must Die like 3 times.It was just that great.DMC 2 was dissapointment, but Dmc 3 hit me like Dmc 1.

When it comes to fourth,Nero is good but not that great and cool as Dante. Bosses are stupid and lack the Style from Nelo Angelo to final boss Mundus or Vergil. Action is good but because Neros just 1 sword and nothing special happening to his arm its get boring after few missions. Demon mode is not so great.

Gta Iv = Hmm.There has been pretty much talk about this game so = Dissapointment to me,hardcore fan.

Grandia = First 1 was only game to really supossed to have Grandia name.

Soul calibur 4 = Great game,this is much better than 1,2 or 3.

Call Of Duty 4 = Great game as well, much better than 1,2, or 3.Great "fiiling" at single player and multiplayer.

Resident evil 4 = Not so great, too much shooting. It did get scary sometimes but whoa when at Res 3 Nemesis first jumped trough window I was so scared I hade to press reset button.

Dead or alive 4 = Well...Looks better.

Quake 4 = Hmm. Wonder what happend to Quake after Quake 2?

To me, at the biggest games, yes, they are dissapointment.

Wonder why?Because I dont have HDMI,because I have played too much?

Well, these are pretty much first games coming to this gen so maybe next ones will be better?

I'm disappointed with GTA since San Andreas... Vice City was the best of them all.

Also, SC4 the best? sucks ass compared to SC2, at least the X360 version... I didn't play the PS3 one.

i 100% agree with resident evil 4,the original 3 were fun because they were scary as hell.4 was basically a shooter with a creepy atmosphere.thats not resident evil.

I'll ad 2 more games.

Project Gotham Racing 4 - Best in the series IMO

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion - Damn for me it's easily the pinnacle

RE4 is the best on series for me.

GTA4 delivers in some aspects,but is not a disappointment at all.

MGS4 is the best game in this generation so far,and the best MGS tied with the first part.

CoD4 is the best FPS this generation so far,and miles away better than previous ones.

DMC4 pales against the best of the series (DMC3) but is better than one and two.

The pre-4 Resident Evils kinda suck in retrospect. In addition to all the stuff that we knew was terrible (e.g., voice-acting) the controls and inventory system are incredibly dated. RE2 is the only one that holds up well, and maybe Code Veronica.

I was never all that fond of MGS either (I haven't played 4). Outside of boss battles the gameplay is mediocre, and the storytelling is ridiculously melodramatic and self-important. You ever meet a stoned college freshman who's just taken his first philosophy class, and is trying to blow your mind with these trite ideas that he thinks are earth-shattering? That's MGS.

COD4, on the other hand, is easily the pinnacle of that series. There isn't much difference between the first three, fanboy ranting about 3 aside, but IW stepped up in a big way. Weapons, level design, gametypes, perks - pretty much everything is better.

dmc4 - lackluster all around
gta4 - I tend to go against the grain and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Never played SA though, only 1, 3 & VC
cod4 - compared to 2-3 it's a big improvement. I still enjoyed the first on PC the most though. vCoD was awesome multiplayer too

mgs4 - own it but haven't played it yet (need to play 3 first)
soulcalibur4 - haven't tried it yet. Only played 1-2. Waiting for a price drop.

Maybe if you wouldnt have played from 1-3 then 4 would be big shock to you.
