Forums - Nintendo - Third-Party Wii Announcements After E3: Have The Optimists Been Vindicated?

Viper1 said:
This is indeed the first of the many. Don't forget Cursed Mountain.

Keep in mind that several 3rd party titles were announced prior to E3 as well such as Tenchu 4, 5 and 6, Spyborgs, Deadly Creatures, The Conduit, etc...

Ah, completely forgot about Cursed Mountain. That's definitely one of my more anticipated games of '09.

Oh, and I'll eat heaping helpings of crow if Sadness turns out to not be vaporware. =P

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Wow, great read but the content was... I enjoyed the wording though.

Anyway yea those are good games, I'm probably picking up several copies of each.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

That's poor support, anyway you look at it, as there are very few games that have good quality for the holidays. Even if Nintendo only had Animal Crossing, it could make a cleaning with this sole title.
But the number of games released is already insane on Wii.
Also, the number of copies is insane. If Nintendo is stock-piling, and this time I think they are, I don't think they will be able to produce enough games, at least for NA.
In Europe, we saw shelves for Nintendo games completely empty, it was an eerie sight.

The announcements are coming, but it's not enough.

I've spoken with the developers myself and have been trying almost vehemently to get others to understand that Sadness is real.

The biggest factor is the game engine.  The CEO of Emergent (creator of the Gamebryo engine) has licensed the engine to Nibris and publicly spoken about Nibris and Sadness before yet people still want to say Nibris is a fake developer.

@Ookaze: The point in the OP was, that if you call the post-E3 announced Wii support poor, what would you call post-E3 announced PS360 support then?

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

sadness should be at leipzig

While I am positive Sadness is real (I believe you Viper) I am not really expecting a trailer any time soon.... all we have had in the past 3 years is about 10-15 images... some looked like game or cutscene images but most were artwork... and I think there was 1 video but it was live action about the concept, nothing in game.

Of course it was a year ago they claimed a "late 2009" release, so there is no need for them to bombard us with gameplay for another 6-9 months.

I think it's safe to say that Wii has decent 3rd party support now, i mean in next few months there are loads of games coming from all the genres which is great. People complained about Ninty's E3 and them going "casual" when last few months were the very good for the console with many publishers deciding to shift attention towards nintendo after failures on the HD market, this holiday season 3rd party sales should be great especially when nintendo does not have many big titles planned.
