Haven't you noticed the protagonist always overcomes unbeatable odds (in these two's case Zeus and Ganon) for whatever reason? So yeah - whoever you're playing will win in the end. |
but what if both are playable at the same time, such as a Smash Bros-esque circumstance?
Really, I didn't think Link would win right off the bat, but if you think of it seriously, everyone saying Kratos abviously wins/Link isn't even a contest is basically assuming that Link stays T rated and Kratos gets to stay M rated, therefor Kratos is the only one who actually gets to kill anyone. That logic is utterly retarded, and even with that, Link has still put a sword right through Ganon's face a bunch of times. As far as I see it, Kratos is just a bald Ganondorf without clothes.
Now, I'm all for Kratos having access to whatever items and powers he had in game, but then Link has access to all items and such in his game too, hence Link is going to have the advantage by sheer versatility. Sure, Link only really has 3 items out at a time, and we still don't know how exactly he carries all that crap, but he does.
Medusa's head is just asking to be mirror shielded, I mean come on. That Lightning thing? Link has been electrocuted by crap before and shook it off like nothing. It drains a couple hearts, big deal. Asteroids? Link has dodged and blocked falling rocks before. Kratos is a God? Yeah, Link has dealt with those too, multiple times. Immortality? Link either has access to magic armor and infinite rupees, or you can set him up with Staff of Byrna and Chataue Romani, which grants unlimited magic.
I'm not going to say that Link is guaranteed to win, my only point here is that anyone who goes "Link wouldn't stand a chance" is straight out WRONG.
