Forums - Sony - I finally went 100% Sony exclusive and it feels great!

Yes another unassuming consumer completely convinced that lesser systems are completely obsolete in the path of the monumental blu-ray format and the power of the cell processing cpu unit 9000.

Glory be to an Internet that spawns such avid consumer advocates. Those which give nothing short of pure, righteous indignant opinions on subjects of consumer electronics, without a hint of the ever-growing cloud of bias surrounding the entheusiasts press and supplicant commentators.

You are absolutely right, the Sony consoles are the only worthy players in the medium of interactive video-gaming. No one, knowing all the facts, would jip themselves by purchasing a Wii or a 360, when the PS3 is such a moderately priced piece of future-proof masculinity. It boggles the mind how Sony can afford to sell it for under a thousands United States Dollars.

TC, to me, you are a hero of the Internet, and I salute you. Your posting history, to me, reads like Robert Frost.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

This is the dumbest thread ever.

He's a born-again Sony fan, show some respect.

Be fair, now, Zen. He has at least deigned to allow the Wii its existence. Hell, Nintendo can even make a new console next generation... I'm sure they're jazzed to have his blessing regarding that!

The Wii Sports and Play games are bundled (with systems or with controllers), I bought both without actively meaning to when I purchased my Wii originally. As for fit, it is selling well but A) its bundled with the balance board which will sell as a controller not only for Wii fit itself and B) it hasn't come close to the 10 million titles like CoD4 have sold without including PC sales.

The casual market is bigger then the hardcore market, but it is less enthusiastic. Kind of like the amount of people who REALLY like super heros is relatively small (I would say 10% or less) in the general population, but they turn out for those movies which makes super hero movies more successful then other movies which might appeal to a larger but less enthusiastic audience.

There may be more potential casual gamers, but hardcore gamers are more likely to make gaming a priority and plunk down a few hundred dollars on a system and then 60 dollars on several games.

@ Jandre I think its only a matter of time. Wii only has big numbers because its more or less alone in its niche. The HD gaming niche is actually bigger still then the casual niche (compare total GTA sales or COD sales with anything Nintendo or another casual game maker puts out for instance) its just that its split between two consoles. If the PS3 keeps on its pace to push the 360 out in the rest of the world and then the US it can eventually pass the Wii.

The PS3 would be the number one console if the 360 didn't exist, without a doubt. I'm just hoping for a Nintendo and Sony only next gen. Honestly they're great compliments to each other, the Nintendo systems are great for families and people who still really like nostalgic gameplay while Sony is great for gamers wanting larger experientially deep games. Of course there's cross over and some will want both (like if I had kids I'd still own both), but neither really eats into the others market. Nintendo sold plenty of N64s even as Sony completely dominated the PS generation for instance.

Oh man...this almost made me puke.

Just for that last paragraph I hope sony goes out of business and never makes another console. I could care less either way but I can already imagine the look on your face.  That look would be more satisfaying than MGS4 and Uncharted put together.

I'm not exactly sure how to reply to this thread...

Good for you? Yay? I mean, I guess it's great that you made a decision and earned a healthy profit off of it, but did you really need to take unnecessary shots at the Wii and 360 like that?

On second thought, don't answer that.

Oh, and yeah, erm, long live the PS3, or something like that...

That's cool. Just a warning, pro-ps3 parties tend to get crashed by angry 360 fanboys. :{

Of course they do, its not like they have any games to play that have come out since...when was your last good exclusive Halo 3 released? Last september?

I have no quarel with Wii people, its a taste thing like arguing Pepsi vs Coke.  360 people though, its like them arguing vehimently for new coke when theres no point for it even existing since its inferior in every way.  The 360 is just a bad purchasing decision now that both are out and the PS3 has pulled decively ahead (with an assist by PC who gets all the good 360 games with free online live play.)

I know, that last paragraph is rubbish.  But to each his/her own.

And good post Zen.
