Forums - Microsoft - What do bad reviews for "Too Homan" mean for the Xbox 360?

Wow, I can't believe this thread went to page 2...

I think the problem is people still get hype for games (including me)... when will we learn.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Bad reviews = lack lustre game sales for Too Human. I do not see Too Human selling much more than 1 million copies worldwide.

I mostly agree but not on two points.

1. Won't necessarily hurt sales much. Alone in the Dark, Atari is pretty happy.

2. Bad reviews doesn't mean it is a bad game.  Mediocre and great games lose points for hype (Kane and Lynch (Med),Beyond Good and Evil (gr), good game gain points (Halo 3, GTA 4, MGS 4, Zelda).

not much

Hoping Too Human 2 will have huge improvements and will get a better score, but I don't care that much. I played the demo, f*cking loved it and will buy it.

It just means the 10-20 usernames without a 360 that post regularly here to bash the system have more ammo.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

So far threads have been pro or against.  I want to discuss it from both sides.

A lot of Wii games have gotten poor reviews and it didn't seem to do anything to that console.  In fact looking at your profile it appears that you own a Wii, so why would you be asking such a question in this forum?  Do you feel that review scores should be the measure of a console's worth?  If so then lets look at each system's library, count the number of games with 80+, etc, and you can help us to declare the best console.

They probably don't mean much. Too Human got some hype, but it was never pushed to the degree of, say, GTA4 or Halo 3. Less hype up-front means less damage when scores like this come in.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Not much will change. MS wasn't banking on Too Human to be a system mover. Funny thing is had reviews been more favorable MS might have tried to move systems with Too Human.

On to the next exclusive.

They gave it a 78 which I think is a fair score.

It means 360 fans will have to wait  one more week to get their 104th 80 or higher metacritic score.
