Continues to be a very one sided market mainly because they are leading the growth in it which seems to be the majority of sales.

This generation seems to be said and done right now. Wii / DS are just monsters. DS sold more than PS3, PSP, Xbox360 and probably PS2 combined. I am glad for Nintendo.

Wii outsold PS360 by quite a margain, too. Of course without a huge release in the last 6-7 weeks. And without a huge game to come for quite a time.

Well Xbox 360 didn't move, same for PS3.

But as we have learned from NPD vs VGC, ioi is just guessing.^^

Well,people holding off for the 80Gb may be another reason ,but frankly ....Sony is releasing one week earlier the 80Gb machine because they are running low on stock of 40Gb before expected..they arent even giving the 40G b a clearance sale at 350 that speaks volumens at how low is their inventory of the machine they can just recall the few unsold machines without too much prejudice.

Wii's sales among the consoles is around 59%
PS3's is 22%
360's is 19%

DS's sales among the handhelds is around 78%
PSP's is 22%

Other than that tidbit of information it's another basic Others week. Nothing to see here...

So are people in Europe EATING their DSes? It just seems like amazingly high sales for such a long time, then again I guess if Japan isn't saturated, EU cant be either.

Yes ,the generation seems said and done.The Wii is absolutely unable to release any core game of any interest that isnt a rehash done ten times of the old Kart/Mario/Zelda/Smash  themes.The PS3 and 360 continue to sell slowly because of their prices outside of the mass market(specially the PS3) but continue to get nearly all the third party support and they are building their not 90%-casual userbases that may prove way more stable that the Wii ones.

This generation will be different ,how can you not see it ....if it was the same as always the machine with the better library would be winning ...but its the least sold. 

 How about top 10? Did we have any major release for any console?

and mgs4, gta4, gt5, ratchet and clank 5, tekken 6 and halo 3 etc are brand new franchises i see, please come up with better reasons on why wii sucks next time, this one is getting really old.

 Those may not be ...but Little Big Planet ,Heavy Rain ,Motorstorm ,Resistence ,White Knight Story ,Heavenly Sword ,Infamous ,most of the PSN games  and many others ARE new franchises.Sony brings new franchises each generation.Nintendo doesnt ....well sometimes it throws one new as Pikmin but relies mostly on their old Kart/Zelda/Mario/Fzero/Smash games that arent really innovative right now.But now it has found the Holy Grial of Casual (cheapo and simple ) games and it will stick to it for some years.

Defending Nintendo is getting really old.
