I really hope by next gen we get 1TB hard drives as the norm and games can be downloaded straight to you overnight - like an Apple store for games and media. I also would like to see a console controller with a touch interface (like the iPhone).

Average Wi-Fi is far faster than the average broadband connection itself.

Motion controls. Any console without will bomb hard next gen.

my next Gen-system:

• 500 GB HDD
• An Ass-kicking CPU (don't know what Intel, AMD, IBM are developing right now)
• A developer-friendly CPU
• 8GB Ram
• WiFi (not for me, but some could need it)
• reliable Hardware
• a FAST-ENOUGH Blu-Ray, so no installation needed
• The possibility to use motion control (I still prefer the Pad)
• 1080p HD for every game
• Ground-breaking GPU
• maybe the possibility to show some REAL 3D-games (with the right TV and stuff)
• Digital Distribution for every single game but still BluRays for every single game in retail
• Cheaper prices for DD
• Halo

-What the Wii-mote can do with the Wiimotion+ peripheral.

-A HDD that has enough GB's of storage-room to store huge amounts of video, music, game-data, downloads, patches and demo's... Something like 250GB.

-Ofcourse Blu-Ray... I really like it, and I think it is a must for the next generation... Or ofcourse some other way of handling huge amounts of Data on a single disc... Although Blu-Ray is now standard so I'd prefer that!

-Great games!... Preferably Nintendo games. Otherwise, it'll be two consoles for me again!

@viper1 actually i know quite a bit about wifi, besides design, i also am a mac certified tech, comptia A+ certified, and am planning on getting net Plus before christmas.

and ethernet is faster in terms of real world speed than any wireless standard there is too much interference and other mitigating factors for you ever to see claimed speeds. less secure, and securing wi fi typically slows it down. though if you want the best in speed and security youd use fiber... but i doubt we will see that in consoles or else where soon.... wired .... always the faster choice, not normally the most aesthetically pleasing
