we should probably wait atleast for the first week's sales, or more than one review. I'm not sure it'll do great, but it's a bit soon to tell for sure.

its a shame that this dev team have been on this game for so many years for it to end like this. well i guess this is going to teach them a valuable lesson.

End like what?

Getting ragged on by Sony fanboys who aren't going to buy it anyway, I guess. Oh noez!

LOL.  Everyone's worst fear.

Trusting Game Informer gives this thread zero credibility.

I don't think it'll be a AAA game, but I don't think it'll hit Lair bad. Maybe around Heavenly Sword level, but because it is silicon Knights it'll probably be better then that.

I don't mean to offend anyone with comparisons to PS3 games, but Nintendo and Microsoft hasn't seen any high profile releases that have backfired as badly as those 2 did.

Don't think just because they're making it that it won't be bad. Remember, everyone hyped Haze up because "OMG IT'S MADE BY FREE RADICAL" and look how it turned out. Speaking of Haze, it got flamed for being a "Halo clone" so how does Too Human, the "Diablo clone" supposed to fare any better?

Pre-orders are supposedly in the 1 million territory currently. That's a pretty fair indicator that the game should be a commercial hit.

Anyone who's played the demo should have their own opinion whether the game should be good or bad. There's no better "review" than a good demo after all.

http://xboxoz360gamer.com/2008/08/03/too-human-rumour-report-shows-1-million-preorders/

“According to sales reports from Gamestop, EB Games, and Microsoft Co., there were an estimated 1.4 million preorders placed in the contiguous U.S. during the one-year period leading up to E3, 2008. After the release of the game’s demo a reported 370,000 additional games were preordered, in addition to 495,000 cancellations.

During the E3 conferences and in the week after, a mere 45,000 preorders were cancelled while 350,000 more were made. There were only a reported 8,000 cancellations during the year prior to the demo’s release.”

"An anonymous gamestop manager" sounds about as credible as "my friend said that Too Human sold a million copies."

I'm not saying it couldn't happen with a game like Fable 2 or Gears of War 2 but not so much too human.

Also, the Haze demo was pretty good too but the game turned out to be crap. A good demo doesn't necessarily mean that a game will be amazing.

If very well could be a good game, but I don't see it doing nearly as well as they make it seem it will.

Also, there's only about 10 other threads talking about Too Human flopping/receiving bad scores, why create your own post on the matter?

Sorry but the Haze demo was complete and utter failure. Yes, I played it.

I actually found that the Haze demo was actually decent, which is why I was suprised the game did so bad. I no way was the demo a "complete and utter failure"

And LOL at the "it'll flop right into my disc tray" comment.

huh?

Oh please, you're telling me that an average of nearly ALL gaming review sites is fair, no matter how biased they are towards a system?

Let's see:

Ninja Gaiden - Heavily marked down for not being a big leap from no.1 and somewhat cheap AI, despite most reviewers saying it has the best combat engine in the genre.

VS

Heavenly Sword - Marked down for being way too short (6-8 hours) and given marks up for being the only decent game PS3 saw for a while AND being a new IP.

Play both and come back and tell me that Heavenly Sword is as good as Ninja Gaiden II. Also, sales figures? pointless, one was released 3 months ago and the other a year ago. Also note one is now platinum which is $50 AU VS $119 RRP for the other ($79 if you bargain shop).

Also, I notice you didn't make any comparisons with Lair, then why bold it?

@axumblade who wrote:

What about Ninja Gaiden 2? Lost Odyssey? Blue Dragon? Kameo? Tenchu Z? Ninety-Nine Nights?

How is Ninja Gaiden a flop, 83% average on Granks (which I don't trust by the way), and 660,000 copies in 3 months. LO and BD did their job by allowing MS to break into Japan. Kameo, is up for debate, but I don't recall HS and Lair levels of hype for that game. Tenchu Z and 99 Nights? Zero hype for both of those games, that's like you listing "carnival games" if that were a list of Wii games.

Did people forget the words "High Profile" releases?

If you enjoy a game, do not worry about what the arrogant out of touch niche gamers have to say about it.  I have lots of games I like that those arrogant gamers despise.  I don't let their shrill screams of hatred affect my enjoyment of a game.

It has bad reviews, but the demo is good. We will see how this affects sales.
