True, but does everyone really need to treat these forums like their personal blog?  MGS4 threads have been done to death before.  Unless you are going to add something new to the topic, why start a whole new thread?  I mean, rocketpig and others have already blasted MGS4 for it's story telling, no need to tell us again.

I've said it and I'll say it again, Kojima clearly stated that Metal Gear Solid 4 is Snake's final chapter and the end of the series as we know it, so what were people expecting?

If you've played the other games before, you'll notice he tried to link every single plot hole from the others games as possible. Sure, sometimes it seems like he's shooting so many things at the same time that you literally want to recheck the cut scene just to be sure to understand everything, but once you link everything together, you'll think that he concluded the series in a very intelligent way.

Then again, I think you have to play the other games in order to appreciate what Kojima did. I know I did! ^_^

Yeah, what point is there in expressing impressions and opinions of a game on a video game message board? I didn't even realize what a thoughtless prick I was being by doing so.

I'll go start another "SONY SAYS LBP WILL BE SYSTEM SELLER!!!" thread to compensate.

 



The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.

i loved it though, i am not bother by long cutscenes as long they are pretty and have good story line.

try metal gear online after you are done with it :)

and the boss fights are awosome especially those of act4!!!

simply epic.

Sony fans, don't get your panties in a bunch. ZOMG SOMEONE PLAYED IT, AND LIKES IT, BUT STILL HAS CRITICISMS!!

How the hell is this backlash? He gives his honest opinion, he's enjoying the game DESPITE said issues, and this is the reaction? Damn. Rabid bunch.

Keep posting your impressions as you go along, Frodaddyg. Some of us appreciate your views.

Well, I just finished Act 2, and it's been pretty much what I'd expected.The ratio of movie to gameplay is a little boring at times, and the dialogue gets to be trying on my patience and/or sanity. "I am telling you something. Now I am telling it to you again in a slightly different way. Now I am using a metaphor to explain it in even simpler terms." Shut up already, I understood the first time, now make with the story, please. I'm officially convinced that Kojima could turn the book "Fun with Dick and Jane" into a 4 hour movie if he felt the inclination to do so.

Heh. The other day I read a thread with people saying the MGS games could never be made into movies, because you could never fit everything in. If you ask me, the real challenge would be rebuilding the story after you cut out all the redundant parts and the just plain stupid parts (like the Escape from the Zombie Horde bit that you just finished).

Don't think I'm hating on the series. Kojima is in some ways a great storyteller. He just really, really needs a good editor.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm not saying you shouldn't express you own opinion about the game.  I'm just wondering why you feel the need to start an entirely new topic about this.  Can you imagine the CLUSTERFUCK these forums would be if everyone decided to start a new thread for every game they felt they should comment on?  Some use of discretion about what threads need to be made would do wonders for these forums.

By the way, on the first page of threads for the Sony forum, I only see one post about Little Big Planet.
