Forums - Nintendo - Nintedo October Suprise

Both the PS3 (Little Big Plant) and Xbox 360 (Fable 2) have big releases scheduled for October.

Nintendo has been able to genearlly been able to counter everything that its competitors have done before.

Any thoughts on what plans it might have up its proverbial sleeve for the fall?

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

they dont need to counter these games. Wii Music will carry them through x-mas.

Sadly not joking.

Animal Crossing should release a few weeks ahead of those...

Not in Japan. They dont have anything for the West until November.

Considering you count SMSluggers and Wario Land as small, just like I do.

When is Animal Crossing and Wii Muysic release dates? I know Wario is September.

Hm...I speculated that we might get Disaster in October. But maybe that's for Japan.

they will probably just ship more wiis

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

Or... they'll just withhold more stock for the holiday season, which brings up the issue of what the big holiday soft sellers will be.

They still need to ship more Kart inventory, seeing as how it's rarely ever in stock.

They still need to ship more Wii Fit inventory, seeing as how it's rarely ever in stock.

Beyond that, Nintendo is more or less banking on the hardware to sell itself (with Wii Sports) based upon improved availability.

Maybe not the best strategy, but... it worked for the last two holiday seasons.

It's a shame but the secret is a big, fat load of nothing.
