well he is somewhat right. I dont see many Wii owners being into the super-fast twitch action FPSs.

Anecdotes are pointless.

how many Wii owners do you see buying a game like Unreal Tournament? I dont see many. It would sell just as well as Hail the Chimp did.

How many Unreal Tournament like games has Wii gamers got to choose from.  One maybe.  I mean we've had 4 standard FPS on the system.... one's a million seller and  2 with Europe/other sales are probably gold.

Shooters sell on any console becasue they are mainstream.  It's not going to matter then.  Epic knows this too.  But why should they allocate properties to another console when they are making a lot of money without it.  Makes no sense business wise.

One last thought.

What games does Epic do?

It has the Gears of Wars series.
It has the Unreal series.

Basically two FPS games.

And it sells a lot of middleware for simliar games.

Mike from Morgantown

PS -- Maybe the Wii crowd is too smart for Epic.

Gears isn't an FPS its a TPS. It's not that the Wii crowd is too smart for Epic, it's because Epic knows their demographic and they wont sell out when they are making a boatload of money anyway, especially off of the Unreal Engine.

I guess you guys never heard about people who regard their freedom to artistic expression more important than monetary compensation. In your world money must be everything.

No, I just never heard of anyone older than 12 that thought video GAMES are really art.

Umm dude...you do know that computer designers are considered artists right? Videogames are works of art.

theyve been saying it for a while,i dont really care though

I'd think Jazz Jackrabbit would work well on the Wii.

They have to be on the Wii for Wii owners to buy or not buy them, so that's not a valid question. Plus you are assuming I know a lot of people who own game systems. I know people, but not that many gamers.

I dont see many.

Present certification that the people you know are a representative sample, or that comment doesn't count.

It would sell just as well as Hail the Chimp did.

If you can magically predict how well it would sell, make money placing bets. Otherwise, stop pretending you know how well a game will do.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

More like... they can't make money on the Wii since they mostly deal in engines... so they need to trash the wii.

No reason to put money on wii development when it can go to games that show off their engines... which make them like a free 6-7 figures per liscensed game.

Well, I've read every post on this thread.

First off, I want to say I love Gears of War 1 and will get Gears of War 2. However, that doesn't mean I don't find what Epic said as rude. If they aren't developing for the Wii, they should just say they are not and leave it at that. Instead, Mike Capps went on to belittle the Wii audience and assume their preferences without any proof.

You think, "Well, Wii owners don't care about graphics anyways, and that's what Epic is all about." I don't understand why people think Wii owners would settle for garbage graphics though. Some games, like Wii Sports are focusing on the gameplay only with the graphics just being centered around it. However, other games liked first-person shooters and adventures and all that have needed graphics for the immersion factor. But when those graphics are worse than what was shown last gen, then I can see where we have the problem.

Epic has two series, Gears and Unreal Tournament. Gears is great, but UT hasn't been good since the 2003 version. UT isn't selling millions upons million though. As to why people on this forum think a Wii game like that won't sell, when there hasn't been one single attempt is just short-sighted.

If Epic is so good, why can't they push a Wii game to its graphical limits? The hardware is so "backward", they should bee able to push those "outdated" specs to the limit in their sleep, but we'll never have any proof of that. There is no proof of their games not appealing to the Wii crowd when they have made no Wii games. If they made a game and it flopped, then they could say that. That's like assuming people won't buy an artists , music because "this race doesn't like it".

Some people just can't be spoken to, because they just HATE Nintendo in general, and condone the practices of disrespect towards them, so I'll stop here. A smart person once said to me, "There is no point in dumbing down your message to people who won't listen, because sure enough, they'll bring you down to their low level when you argue with them."

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

(....You're right...that would work....with an FPS. Even then it still wouldnt be fluid)

Wait a second, are you actually suggesting that the Wii is clunky while a 360 controller is fluid and tight for FPS?

2 sticks is so clunky and sad for shooters. It really couldn't get any more awkward for FPS unless you were doing it with boxing gloves on. Which is why I play them on PC, and I get the added bonus of it not being a LOLFAILBOX.

Please don't debate that 2 sticks are actually good for shooters. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact.

Show me one FAILBOX 360 player who handles like that and I'll shut up about that particular topic.   Though I do find it ironic that console shooters laugh at Wii graphics in the same breath that they talk about how OMG AWESOME nubstick shooters are.  Particularly funny when you consider all the top 360 games (minus H3) are on PC and in far superior form in every possible way.
