I guess you guys never heard about people who regard their freedom to artistic expression more important than monetary compensation. In your world money must be everything.

What ambitions? What artistic expressions? All epic are are graphics whores who only excel in graphics coding and licensing out engines. I mean it's not like their games feature high quality and philosophical stores you're so fond of. All they want to do is excel in highly expensive coding...for whatever reason.

Please...Gears has more artistic direction than most FPS this gen and its not even an FPS. Resistance is copying off of their style.  I would say that they are pretty influential. Do you think Sony would've had  Insomniac  make  Resistance without a Halo or Gears of War being in existence?...You're fooling yourself.

I've heard this before. Pray tell, how is Resistance similar to GeoW? Are we talking about just the Sci Fi-ish setting or what?

...

Resistance copying Gears... a pretty good copy since resistance has a far better artstyle.

Art style? LOL thats hilarious. I like both the PS3 and the 360 but im not nearly as biased. I favor 360 shooters because its more deserving of my time. Gears has a stand out style. Resistance is a cookie cutter shooter. It's like a dumbed down, ripped off version battlefield 1942 with aliens in it, stealing the xboxes leading shooters concepts. KZ2 is the closest thing to being creative and the first game sucked. It reminds me of black and F.E.A.R. concepts. As I said typical cookie cutter shooters on PS3. Do you know how much value Halo 3 will have once the extra updates come from Bungie?

I dare you to name games that Gears is like and is ripping off. Hell try halo.

Just remember ...

People insult what they fear and do not understand.

Epic and CliffyB and others who have insulted the Wii are afraid of it.
They are afraid that the video gaming to which they have become accustomed -- and from which they have profited -- is changing. They are afraid that gaming is moving away from violent first-person shooters with exacting details but a minimalist color pallet.

If I were an FPS maker, and I saw the new challenge, I would be afraid too. They feel like a steam locomotive maker when they saw diesel trains coming. They know a shift is happening. And they are being shifted away.

(And for those who think that this is entirely being done by the Wii -- think again. First of all, no genre of video gaming has ever remained on top forever. The early arcade shooters gave way to maze games gave way to platformers gave way to RPGs gave way to adventure games gave way to FPS. So the next step is coming.

Also, what is the most anticipated PS3 game -- it is not an FPS -- it is LBP.

So change is in the air -- and some will lose -- and they are afraid.

No, I just never heard of anyone older than 12 that thought video GAMES are really art.

well he is somewhat right. I dont see many Wii owners being into the super-fast twitch action FPSs.

One last thought.

What games does Epic do?

It has the Gears of Wars series.
It has the Unreal series.

Basically two FPS games.

And it sells a lot of middleware for simliar games.

PS -- Maybe the Wii crowd is too smart for Epic.

Haha that's what I keep saying.  The best thing Epic brought to this market was Unreal Engine stuff.  Otherwise they've made 2 shooter series that are average but continuously get overrated and overhyped because people are just silly nowadays.  Swear games like LBP alwasy get the backseat to games like Gears and its bullshit.  It pisses me off.

Anecdotes are pointless.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
