Forums - Nintendo - Epic: Our games don't appeal to the Wii's crowd.

Bottomline, Epic has no plans right now to do a game for the Wii.  When someone steps up and makes an "epic" core game on the Nintendo platform and it sell through the roof, it will give way to other companies doing that.  Mad World, maybe but they have THIS to deal with.  Rockstar's GTA Chinatown Wars may give Take-Two the balls to publish a Wii version GTA.  Campcom is stil taking small shots by publishing Zombie games with the up coming Dead Rising Wii game.  Slowly but surely the tied may turn as long as the casual half doesn't become too vocal about the addition of more mature games.

The Wii will always face this problem.  This is first time since the NES days that a console is highly family-friendly audience with almost a minority of mature core players vs the norm of mature core players with a few family-friendly players.

I'm just saying...

Epic rocks but wii fanboys will say they suck just because they don't want to support the wii.Its sad because they make good games I played gow on my friend's house and thought it was awesome.Anyway I don't think the right way to reply if you are a wii fanboy would be "I don't care their games don't appeal to me."that would only made the wii seem like a casual platform so if epic's games don't appeal to wii fanboys then would do they like?

Most of the Wii fans aren't saying they suck, they're saying they don't care if they don't.

Yeah, it would be great for Wii to have an Epic game. But are less people going to buy Wiis in the next 2-3 years? Are less total games going to sell? Are there still more quality games coming out than most people buy or have time to play?

I personally like Gears of War, it's one of my top 5 shooters. But it is mostly because of the arcade style gameplay and the graphics. I don't think Epic has what it takes to make a good Wii game.

I agree on saying they don't care but they are giving reasons to epic for not making wii games because of there attitude and yes I like gears of war.

Because all Hardcore games target every hardcore gamer? I don't see how if a certain number of people don't like Gears they automatically become casual. I have a 360 and still won't be getting gears 2 because I didn't like the first. Am I casual? Also how many games is epic known for? All I can count is two, Unreal and Gears. I would prefer Unreal on my PC with mods, rather than the Wii, and I don't like gears so I don't care if they develop for the Wii or not. No matter how you put it, I'm not downplaying the situation, and REALLY don't care, and I'm sure others feel the same.

That's why they won't put it on the wii since you and other wii owners don't care.If you read the thread carefully you will notice  wii owners saying they don't care.

@Ctk If we don't care then why would we want epic to make Wii games?

So Epic Games shoots straight, doesn't blow smoke up your behind, gets crucified.

Ubisoft lies and gets crucified. (quality support, Ubidays fiasco)

It's looking like Wii owners are only happy when companies are supporting the system. Even telling you the truth gets your games trashed and called assholes.

If Wii owners got over the notion that you have to make games on the system to make money (not true), then they'd be a much happier bunch.

How do you feel about Epic games? If I recall, you were pretty riled when Cliffy said that Resistance 2 sucked, compared to Gears 2, and MGS4 wasn't the type of game they were aiming for?

Aren't your comments now more based on your hate for Wii fanboys than your hate for Epic games...or did you change your mind when they announced a possible new game for the PS3?

They announced a PS3 game?

I just happen to love gears though, and Unreal.

I do care since if epic makes a wii game the wii will get some respect since it is mainly seem as a casual platform even by the one's who own it :/

Newsflash:

Wii games look better than PS2 and XBOX games!

More at 11.

Man this kind of attitude makes me not like the company that much and its making me not want too support them and buy there…. kind of cool games :/

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

"Epic apparently feels that they can protest and spite the Wii by making very clear public statements that they don't support the Wii, and I'm sure they would try to convince other companies not to do so as well."

That's true. No one can make a negative comment about the Wii. Not even Epic. Not even Cliff Blesinsky. Once they learn to make games of the same quality as Wii Sports Resort, Wii Music, and Animal Crossing and put them on the Wii, they'll be able to talk, but not until then.

Wii Music? Seriously?
