I thought traditional arcades died out about 5-6 years ago?

In the UK at least, the only arcades that aren't in the middle of cities are ones that are more amuesment based (grabber machines\fruit machines\quiz machines\the odd sit down racer)...

Very hard to find an arcade consisting of mainly JAMMA type upright cabinets with a good mix of fruities....ahhh the good old days....

I miss the arcades. I miss that after work I could pass near one and play a credit or 2 on my way home =( *sighs*

funspot is great, though it is missing some of my personal favorites, like konami's X-men and Golden Axe, plus the abscense of a mvs is puzzling, and Dragon's Lair was behaving oddly last time I was their

After Burner, Outrun and Space Harrier totally rock in their full hydraulic filled sit down glory

and they keep their games in excellent condition and actually make repairs

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I played in an arcade during my vacation to the beach that i really enjoyed. Had lots of Sega arcade games like Virtua Cop. It was in Ocean Shores WA.

Kickin' Those Games Old School.       -       201 Beaten Games And Counting

Well i've spent a fortune in my younger years on the arcades: Punisher, Cadillac, Terminator 2, King of the Fighters, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Combat 1-4, Tekken 1-5. Man those were times, i did not own snes until something like 1995 (hah that was reality in Poland) so Arcades were the places in which we played our games.

Maybe most of the traditional arcades are gone, not sure.  The malls I go to tend to have arcades (which is where I usually went for arcades as a kid).  Pizza places, some gas stations, many bars, and some casinos still tend to have arcades.  Arcades/bars like Jillian's and Dave and Busters are also in most major cities.  As far as I can tell, there are still plenty of arcades but they tend to be a little expensive for me.  Funspot (the biggest arcade) tends to have some of the better deals.  If you get a food and arcade special at Dave and Busters you can play the really modern arcade games for not too much.

Well i went on holidays to Newquay (played some House of the Dead) and still loads of arcades there, as well as in Trocadero i think in the UK if you look you will still find quite a lot of Arcades left.

I only go to arcades on birthdays, usually kid places.
