I thought traditional arcades died out about 5-6 years ago?

In the UK at least, the only arcades that aren't in the middle of cities are ones that are more amuesment based (grabber machinesfruit machinesquiz machinesthe odd sit down racer)...

Very hard to find an arcade consisting of mainly JAMMA type upright cabinets with a good mix of fruities....ahhh the good old days....

Maybe most of the traditional arcades are gone, not sure.  The malls I go to tend to have arcades (which is where I usually went for arcades as a kid).  Pizza places, some gas stations, many bars, and some casinos still tend to have arcades.  Arcades/bars like Jillian's and Dave and Busters are also in most major cities.  As far as I can tell, there are still plenty of arcades but they tend to be a little expensive for me.  Funspot (the biggest arcade) tends to have some of the better deals.  If you get a food and arcade special at Dave and Busters you can play the really modern arcade games for not too much.
